Arrow of Light

For those of you who grew up with no brothers like me, scouting is a whole new world! Since having a boy of my own, I have been forced to learn about the scouting world and believe me, have cussed all the very many badges that need to be sewn on a uniform! (Thank heavens for the sticky stuff my sister-in-law told me about! After, of course, all badges except one were already placed!)

Despite the badge war, Kelton has really enjoyed cub scouts and has learned many things that have built his character and hopefully his self-esteem. He recently earned his Arrow of Light, which is kind of like earning an Eagle in boy scouts.

They had a wonderful presentation for Kelton on his special night. The guest speaker/Mountain Man was really quite a character and put on a presentation that was right up Kelton's alley! Here he is presenting Kelton with the actual Arrow of Light, his badge, and my pin (Mothers get a special pin to wear.)

It was quite commical and rather embarrassing how hard it was to get the pins on my clothes! He got awards for Arrow of Light and Webelos that night, so we struggled to get two pins on me.

We're proud of you, Kelton and what a wonderful young man you are growing into.
